Living and working in the AONB
Stand anywhere in the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley, no matter how remote, and you will see signs of human activity.
These will be apparent not only in the scattered farmhouses, deserted quarries or distant towns, but in the very shape and fabric of the landscape itself. Even our heather moorland, thought of as one of the great British wildernesses, has been managed by people since the Iron Age.
It is this interaction between our communities and the landscape they inhabit that makes the AONB so special.
This section of the website recognises the contribution made over many generations by the people who live and work here.
It celebrates not only their heritage and their particular brand of Welsh culture but also their success in creating a thriving local economy full of dynamic businesses.
They are playing a vital role in helping to ensure a sustainable, prosperous future for the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley AONB.
