Coed Nercwys

Coed Nercwys

Coed Nercwys is a Natural Resources Wales site situated just 3 miles from Mold on the eastern edge of the AONB. Planted in 1965 with a mixture of Lodge Pole Pine, Sitka spruce, noble fir and larch it is a relatively small site but its variety of trees, clear fell areas, ponds and remaining ground flora make it an excellent place to see a range of wildlife. The site is dotted with reminders of how this part of Nercwys Mountain has changed over the years, from a time when it was open moorland dotted with farmsteads and mine workings.
