We need your help!

Quite simply, we would never be able to do all the work that is constantly required to maintain the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley AONB without the help of our dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers.

Each year our volunteers put many thousands of hours into improving and maintaining our AONB. They get to do everything from dry stone walling, hedge laying and heather burning to counting natterjack toads or listening for black grouse.

Not only is volunteering fun, it gets you into the fresh air, teaches you new skills, puts something back into the environment and lets you meet new people.

If this is something that interests you then take a look at our volunteer programme and see if there’s anything that takes your fancy. We provide full training and even if you just want to come and try an activity first then you can come along to one of our events.

Did You Know?

The charity Friends of the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley was set up in 2015 with support from the AONB team to help current and future generations discover and enjoy the special features of the AONB. They now have over 200 members and support the AONB team with events and projects while also offering their own event programme and publishing a regular newsletter. Find out more here https://friends.cymru/

If practical tasks aren’t for you, why not join one of the walking or Nordic walking groups in the AONB, find new routes to explore and meet new people? Or you could even start your own walking group and train to become a volunteer walk leader with us.
