About Nocturnal Networks Development Phase

Wales’ night skies are among some of the darkest in the world. This post will support an exciting new project to improve and protect the quality of these skies further as well as monitor and protect the biodiversity that depends upon it. It is an opportunity to work in Wales’ most beautiful and biodiverse landscapes across in an exciting new area of conservation.

The Nocturnal Networks Development Phase project aims to improve priority ecological networks by addressing light pollution, a major but often ignored cause of habitat degradation.  It will map dark corridors to support species movement and ecosystem resilience.  Findings will inform future lighting retrofits to reconnect fragmented habitats.  Baseline biodiversity and light monitoring will guide long-term actions.
