It is so great to see so many people embracing the beautiful countryside to enjoy this unusual spell of hot weather. Our countryside sites have been busy with people enjoying nature however, we would like to take this opportunity to remind visitors to follow the Countryside Code to protect the precious landscape we love.
Take your litter home
Remember to bring a bag with you and take your rubbish and food waste home, use public bins or recycle if possible. Litter spoils the beauty of the countryside and can be dangerous to wildlife and livestock. Dropping litter and dumping rubbish are criminal offences.

Wildfire
The risk of wildfire is heightened during this dry and hot period. Just one spark is enough to start a blaze that can spread rapidly, causing devastating damage.
Wildfires threaten not only the beautiful landscapes we all value, but also the rich habitats and wildlife they support, and the people who live and work in these areas.

Responsible Parking
- Keep access clear: Never block gateways, field entrances, or private driveways. Farm machinery needs constant access.
- Allow room for emergency vehicles: Always park so that wide emergency vehicles can pass through safely.
- Use designated areas: Park in designated car parks or clearly marked lay-bys whenever possible.
- Avoid blocking lanes: Do not park on narrow verges or blind bends where you could cause a hazard to other traffic, cyclists, or wildlife.
- Be considerate: Do not park in accessible bays or on verges that are easily damaged.

Diolch yn fawr
The Dee Valley Ranger team would like to thank local residents and volunteers who assisted with a clean up at Rhaeadr y Bedol (Horseshoe Falls), Llantysilio on Tuesday 26th May.
Unfortunately, the site which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site suffered unnecessary disrespect by a minority of individuals posing a threat to livestock, wildlife and landscape.
